MRW’ is an experienced, former editorial, in-house, media lawyer. As A Legal Consultant She specializes in defamation, privacy, copyright, image rights and intellectual property and associated issues as outlined on each header page of this website.
She has maintained and developed a life long interest in news and current affairs which was born out of a strict childhood that encouraged staying in and reading. She joined the University newspaper in freshers’ week and was a reporter throughout her time reading Law. And Listings Editor. Then Features Editor. She also undertook work experience on a few local papers at that time as well.
She is now a consultant on legal, social and well-being matters.
She has completed a number of additional continuing professional development courses such as a Google marketing course, a social media marketing course and a website building course in order to help keep abreast of basic digital developments.

Qualified as a solicitor in 1998
After reading law at Hull University and completing the Solicitors legal final exam at Chester Law School, MRW started her legal career a with a paralegal job at a niche sports law firm off Chancery Lane in 1995, in Holborn’s legal quarter.
Within a year she successfully applied for a training contract with a “Legal 500” City law firm.
Having survived a hellish two year training contract she qualified as a solicitor in 1998.
Upskilled & Became A Solicitor-Advocate In 2013
She upskilled her legal qualifications in 2013 by passing the “Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Rights of Audience)” exams. Provided They Are On The Roll of Solicitors And Hold An Annual Practising Certificate Solicitor-Advocates Are Qualified To Act As Counsel As Well As Solicitors.
MRW is currently available for consultancy work and only practices as a Solicitor or Solicitor-Advocate when she is on the roll of solicitors and registered as having a current annual practicing certificate. At any time her prevailing status in this regard can be checked with the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority.

In-house defence lawyer for this independent, award-winning celebrity book publisher. As a pre-publication lawyer & post-publication manager she saved the company thousands of pounds in legal costs and judgments. She successfully fought off legal complaints after the company published (official & unofficial) biographies featuring television presenters, musicians, politicians, reality show stars, sport stars, notorious criminals and high-profile crimes. She dealt with the law of defamation, privacy, confidentiality, trademarks, image rights, passing off, and copyright. She also achieved a 100% success rate during this time defending her client against stellar opponents and lawyers.
